Common Folk Music: Family Matters

We're quite fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with some brilliant artists at Workshop. One of our favorite collaborations is a quarterly music series we call Common Folk.

Each event is based on a unique theme, and we've been able to capture incredible design, photography, video, storytelling, music, and most importantly, people at each of these Common Folk shows.

Our last event in May was entitled Common Folk: Family Matters, where artists The Diving Bell, Brandon Cunningham and Tyler Sjostrom performed original songs and covers of (not kidding) TV theme songs from the 80's & 90's.

We were honored to have the show filmed by our good (and talented) friends from Northbound Pictures, and we'd like to share a clip from each artist to get you primed for our upcoming Common Folk event on 9/11/15: The Working Class.

On the 11th of September, join guest host Max Wastler, and artists Liza Day, Jacob Little and Paul Gulyas as we explore working-class music through stories, original songs and covers from these fine local songwriters. You can read details and register here, and see who's coming on FB here.

Special thanks to Northbound Pictures for these clips, Ryn Manby for the photography, and Frances Macleod for the design. Like we said, we're fortunate in collaborators.

Enjoy, and we hope to see you in September.
